We sat down with Gabriel Kushnir from Cover You to chat about how KINTO's business solutions have helped them provide rental cars for their customers. Here’s what he had to say.

Tell me a bit about your business and its transportation needs.

Cover You provides vehicles to customers while they are off the road due to a not-at-fault insurance claim. Customers receive a vehicle in a similar category to their own (such as an SUV, van, or ute). In our case, we provide the latest model Toyota hybrids supplied by KINTO.

What sets our service apart is that we cover both the daily vehicle rental charges and the fuel costs. This unique offering stands out in the rental and replacement industry. We have received very positive feedback from customers, especially considering today's cost of living.

Before using KINTO, how did you handle transportation for your business?

We used traditional travel and leisure hire operators in addition to our own fleet of 900 cars. However, we found that the conventional rental operators didn't offer any appealing customer incentives. Plus, the logistics became overwhelming due to our large number of employees on the ground, managing drop-offs, cleaning, and delivering the cars. We have completely eliminated that process, resulting in substantial savings.

The introduction of KINTO car rental has completely transformed this process; it's now 100% digital. From the moment we are notified that a customer needs a car through to the customer arriving at their car's location and unlocking it with KINTO, the entire experience is streamlined and managed digitally, eliminating the need for any frictional human involvement.

What was your initial impression of KINTO?

We weren't sure whether KINTO was suitable for us; nevertheless, we felt the world was becoming more connected, and innovation would ultimately drive our growth, so we gave it a try.

What specific challenges or pain points were you hoping to solve by exploring car-sharing services?

We were looking for a way to evolve the industry—something that would genuinely benefit insurers, save costs, and still deliver an excellent customer experience. Can you describe the sign-up and onboarding process? How easy is it to get started?

In our industry, we have a qualifier process that ultimately guides the customer, based on the AI outcome, to the KINTO sign-up. It's been exceptionally seamless, providing a really nice customer journey.

Were there any aspects of KINTO's platform that immediately stood out to you?

How quickly could your team begin using the service for your business needs?

The whole process took us about 12 months, primarily because we had some work to do on our end to embed our technology and ensure there was no friction for the customer. However, once we had that figured out, it was literally like flipping a switch to get the KINTO for business function up and running.

How does your business currently utilise the KINTO car rental vehicles?

When a customer is referred to us, they go through our qualification process, which is entirely digital. Within seconds of completing the qualification, they receive instructions on what to expect next, including the delivery of their digital key to their phone and details on how to pick up the car.

Additionally, we provide seamless transportation for customers to get to their car through some other partnerships.

What are some of the key benefits you've experienced since incorporating KINTO car rental into your operations?

Our customers experience happiness from the moment they begin the process until they return the car. We understand that many of our clients have recently been involved in an accident and are initially unhappy. However, our efficient process and dedicated service bring a positive transformation to their experience.

Have you noticed any cost savings compared to your previous transportation methods?

The cost savings are primarily evident in the internal efficiencies we achieve from managing the service and logistics. We have full visibility on a claim-by-claim basis, allowing us to leverage our savings to cover expenses such as fuel for our customers.
