KINTO Car Rental FAQ In NT

Where can I pick up a KINTO hire car in the Northern Territory?

KINTO vehicles in the Northern Territory are currently available from two Toyota dealership locations: Bridge Toyota in Darwin and Bridge Toyota in Palmerston). To view the exact locations and available vehicles, download the KINTO Car Hire app. Simply become a member, book through the app, walk up to your vehicle, and unlock it with your phone, no counter queues, keys, or paperwork required.

Can I hire a 4WD or ute in the Northern Territory?

Yes, the HiLux Double Cab 4x4 is available for hire in the NT, alongside SUVs like the RAV4 Hybrid and the 7-seat Kluger Hybrid, hybrids, and the HiAce van for cargo. All bookings include fuel[1], insurance[2], [ST2.1]servicing and 24/7 roadside assistance.

Can I take a KINTO hire car to Kakadu, Litchfield or Uluru?

Yes, you can drive a KINTO vehicle to destinations such as Litchfield National Park, Kakadu National Park, and Uluru, provided you stay on sealed, public roads and return the vehicle to the same location where you collected it. KINTO vehicles can be driven throughout all Australian states and territories, including the Northern Territory.

Please note that KINTO vehicles must not be driven on unsealed roads, except for private driveways. This means some attractions within Kakadu and other national parks that require travel on gravel or 4WD-only tracks are not accessible with a KINTO vehicle. Before setting off, always check your planned route to ensure it remains on sealed roads.

How does pricing work for long-distance road trips in the NT?

You pay a Duration Fee (hourly or daily) plus a Distance Fee per kilometre, and fuel is included[1], which matters in the NT where distances are long and remote fuel is expensive. Weekly rates reduce the daily cost.

Can I pick up in Darwin and drop off in Alice Springs?

No, KINTO vehicles must be returned to the same location they were collected from. If you're planning a Stuart Highway trip, book a return itinerary from either Darwin or Palmerston.
