Start your visit to Brighton right with a trip to Brighton Beach. This beautiful stretch of golden sand is home to the iconic Brighton Bathing Boxes, a row of vibrant Victorian-era beach huts that have become a popular attraction over the years. Stroll along the beach and snap some pictures in front of the colourful boxes before heading into the cool waters for a swim, paddle board or surf. After your dip, laze on the sand with a book and soak in the sun to dry off. Brighton Beach is a beautiful destination to spend any warm day with friends and family.
Take a Coastal Walk
When the sun is out and shining, don't waste the day inside; instead, get your walking shoes on and get outside. The Brighton area has a variety of wonderful walking tracks to explore, but if you're looking for a coastal backdrop and want to breathe in the salty breeze, then the Brighton Beach to St Kilda Beach return walk is what you're searching for. The walk itself is approximately 6.4 km each way and is a fantastic way to get your steps in for the day with a gorgeous view of the ocean. This walk will take you past Middle Brighton Pier and Elwood Beach on your way to St Kilda, so you can see more of the surrounding areas as you go. The Sargood family lived within the Rippon Lea Estate for years before it was eventually gifted to the nation and opened to the public. Now, visitors can learn the history of those who lived here in the home and see the gorgeous estate in all its glory. Today, you can visit this grand home on a guided tour, explore its rooms and parlours as well as tour the gardens, which even have a huge lake. Rippon Lea Estate hosts many events throughout the year, including high tea, markets, croquet, bird watching and much more.
Bike Ride Brighton
Spend the day in the fresh air on a bike ride around Brighton and the surrounding suburbs. The Brighton area has a range of paths and tracks that are perfect for cycling and exploring. Bring your bike or easily hire one and pick from one of the terrific bike rides in the area. A short drive towards the city will get you to the Capital City Trail, a 29 km ride that passes Dight Falls and The Collingwood Children's Farm for a mostly flat ride. Or if you're after a ride that is local to Brighton, there is the Bay Trail, which takes riders from Brighton to Port Melbourne in a 26 km return ride. This is a picturesque ride that follows the coastline of Port Phillip Bay along the waters to Port Melbourne and is relatively flat. It's a family-friendly ride, with multiple entrances along the path to start later along the track.

Some of the highlights are The Brighton Farmers Market, which runs every third Saturday of the month, starting bright and early. At these markets, you will find a huge range of fresh produce, including seasonal fruits and vegetables from local growers, cheeses, oils, honey, preserves, meats and other pantry and gourmet food goods. You'll easily pick up a range of good quality ingredients to create delicious meals at home. Additionally, there is the Soul Night Market, which runs from the first day of each month from December to March. This market is perfect for eating, drinking and shopping, with over 60 stalls, including boutique fashion stalls, local craft beer, wine, cocktails, delicious food, art and accessories.
