Clarence River Historical Society Inc

Step back in time at the Schaeffer House, now home to the Clarence River Historical Society. The Schaeffer House was built around 1900 and was the home of the city's first architect, Mr F. W. C. Schaeffer. Today, the home is preserved as a museum with a collection of historical artefacts, items, photographs and more. In its past life, the home was adorned with statues, a sunken garden and rare plants. Now, the Schaeffer House is still a lovely manicured property and garden that offers a peek into the past.

See Park is a well-loved park, adored by locals and visitors. It is a charming spot for a picnic on the grass lawns shaded by the leafy Jacaranda trees. There are two sections of the park joined by a cable-stay footbridge, so visitors walk across the small stream. Additionally, there is a playground for the kids to explore and play on, a water fountain, picnic tables, and BBQ facilities, making this a terrific park to visit.
