Take a Stroll Through the West Wyalong Wetlands
If you're looking for somewhere picturesque for a walk, jog, or ride, look no further than the West Wyalong Wetlands. They are a stunning nature escape located right in the heart of town. The wetlands span over 6.5 hectares of land and are a solution to heavy rainfalls and flooding, which will eventually be used as a water source for parks and gardens in the region. Breathe in the fresh air and take in the tranquil waters as you wander the wetland area. And, if you love bird watching, spend time admiring the many species that call this area home. To extend your walk, link from the wetlands to the Green Corridor Walking Track, which features 24 km of lush path to trek.
Take a Dip in the Local Pools
West Wyalong and the surrounding areas have a range of pool facilities to suit your needs. On a warm summer day, there's nothing better than taking a dip in refreshing waters and cooling off. In this instance, Holland Park Swim Centre has what you need. This park is equipped for the whole family with an Olympic-sized 8-lane swimming pool featuring a diving board to show off your tricks, a water slide for hours of fun, a hydro play pool, and an aqua inflatable slide. There are so many fun spots to play and swim, plus there are large grass areas to lounge on with a book and BBQs for family gatherings by the pool. Change the pace with a trip to Barmedman Mineral Pool, a 25-minute drive from West Wyalong. While you can still cool off and play in the pool area, these pools have an element of self-care to them, too. They are mineral pools with high levels of minerals fed through an underground stream. The minerals are thought to have some beneficial properties, including healing, so this is a popular spot among locals who love visiting for a soak.
