Salamanca Market
Spend the morning wandering through Salamanca Market, on Salamanca Place, a historic docks area of Hobart. The street is lined with Georgian sandstone warehouses built in the 1830s and used to store grain, wool and other imported goods. Today they have been converted into restaurants, pubs, galleries and more. Every Saturday, the Salamanca Market transforms the street into a bustling scene of live music, food, fresh produce, handmade crafts and art, with over 300 stalls to browse through.

Mount Wellington

While at Wellington Park, you can do anything from bushwalking, hiking to rock climbing and even bring your horse to ride along some of the trails. Make your way to the summit for breathtaking views of Hobart and Surrounds.
Bruny Island
Take the ferry to Bruny Island, located just off the coast of Hobart. Spend some time taking in the stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches and explore what the island has to offer. From gorgeous walks through nature to specialty cheese, honey, beer, whiskey, cider and chocolate shops, you can taste and sip your way through the local specialties on Bruny Island.
Port Arthur Historic Site
Spend the day exploring the Port Arthur Historic site. Initially a convict settlement built in the 18th &19th centuries, this site is full of history. Take one of the many tours, including a ghost tour if you are brave and learn about the history of Port Arthur.
Richmond Village
As its name suggests, Richmond is rich in history and architecture. Home to Australia’s oldest bridge, Richmond Bridge and Australia’s oldest Gaol, Richmond Gaol. There are more than 50 additional historic buildings to visit and explore while you learn about Tasmania’s history through this quaint village. Once you’ve had your fill of history, pop over to the Coal River Valley, a bustling wine region where you can taste some quality wine and relax.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
The Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a conservation facility for wildlife, including some animals that are no longer found elsewhere in the world. These include the Tasmanian Devil, the Eastern Quoll, the Tasmanian Pademelon and the shy Tasmanian Bettong. Take a tour, see the animals, learn and get up close and personal with them. Also, the kangaroos within the sanctuary roam free and apparently love a chest scratch or two.
Farm Gate Market
You can head to the Farm Gate Market every Sunday rain hail or shine, to sample some tasty local produce. Grab yourself some freshly baked bread, locally grown seasonal produce, spirits from boutique distilleries, cakes, sourdough donuts, locally roasted coffee and hand-blended tea.
