Visit Penguin Island
When in Rockingham, visiting Penguin Island is a must. A quick 5-minute ferry ride will get you over to the island, where you can take your time exploring all day before the last ferry home. Swim in the clear blue waters and snorkel around the island, seeing the oceanscapes that lie under the waves. Spend time relaxing on one of the sandy beaches, spotting shells and wildlife, or walking one of the few trails and tracks over the island. Keep an eye out for dolphins and sea lions when in the water, and on the island, you may even see some cute Little Penguins. Penguin Island is a wonderful nature escape without the long travel distance.
Beach Day
Spend the day at one of the beaches in Rockingham. The Rockingham area has a range of excellent beaches for travellers and locals to enjoy and lounge in the sun. Rockingham Beach features lovely sandy shores, calm waters and shallow wading areas, making it a terrific family beach. It's just across the boardwalk from a strip of fantastic cafes and restaurants for when you're done swimming and feeling peckish. Waikiki and Warnbro beaches are both popular spots for swimming and water sports, paddleboarding in the calm waves or canoeing through the water. The beach is big enough to spread out on the sand and enjoy the shores. Lastly, Palm Beach is a superb spot to cast a line if you're looking to fish. The location has an accessible jetty and boat ramps, too.

Point Peron
Another wonderful attraction in Rockingham is Point Peron. Located at the southern end of Cockburn Sound, it is a stunning location to visit with family and friends and one that the kids will love too. The Shoalwater Islands Marine Park surrounds Point Peron, and the waters are ideal for swimming and other water activities. Snorkel, paddleboard, canoe and swim among the waves of this beautiful beach. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy along the sandy shores, and even pack up the beach cricket gear so you can have a game along the strip of sand. There is much to see and explore at Point Peron, making it a great destination to spend the day.
Go Bushwalking
Get back to your roots with an outdoor nature walk in Rockingham. The Rockingham area has a terrific range of tracks and trails that are perfect for bushwalking. Pack your binoculars to spot birds and wildlife, and head out to one of the many walking tracks in the region. For example, the Baldivis Nature Reserve Trail is a 2 km walk featuring lovely jarrah, sheoak and banksia trees. The track widens out as you walk and is a great short walk. Another fantastic spot to come for a walk is The Don Shepard Nature Reserve. The reserve is thriving with dense bushland, and gorgeous wildflowers are dotted throughout the park in the warmer seasons.

The Rockingham Foreshore is a fantastic attraction in Rockingham, with plenty to see and do for the whole family.
