The last thing you want to do when hiring a car is worry about fuel costs.
Many car hire companies require their cars to be returned with a full tank of fuel out of your own pocket. But with KINTO, it’s all looked after for you.
Every KINTO booking (with the exception of KINTO’s all electric bZ4X) comes with a Motorpass fuel card so you can refuel as you go without paying extra. That means you can enjoy your journey without any surprises at the fuel pump
If this is your first time using KINTO, you can read our step by step guide to picking up your KINTO car hire.
What’s included with a KINTO car hire booking
When you book a KINTO, the cost covers your fuel, insurance, car maintenance, servicing and 24/7 roadside assistance. While some fees do apply, like tolls, infringements and insurance excess (if required), KINTO takes pride in being an all-inclusive car hire and car sharing service.
Every KINTO vehicle has a Motorpass Fuel card which is available at over 6500+ fuel stations across Australia. These cover many major chains such as:
- BP
- Reddy Express
- 7 Eleven
- Ampol
- United
- Mobil
- Caltex
- Shell
- Metro
- And several other smaller fuel stations
For more details on where Motorpass fuel cards are accepted, please visit the Motorpass website.
For remote locations and independent fuel stations where the fuel card may not be accepted, pay for the fuel and keep your receipt. Email a clear photo of the itemised receipt/s to info@kinto.com.au with your membership and booking details, and your fuel costs will be reimbursed in full after the successful completion of your booking.

Usage of the Motorpass fuel card
While in your KINTO booking, please refuel the car using the provided fuel card whenever it gets below ¼ of a tank. Your KINTO booking should have at least ¼ of a tank of fuel when you begin your journey. If not, please report it via the KINTO car hire app booking screen or call us on 1300 4KINTO.
You can use the Motorpass fuel card at any point of your journey with us, , bit it can only be used to purchase fuel. It cannot be used to buy other amenities, food, drinks or car maintenance goods even if they are for sale at the fuel station. These items will need to be purchased separately to fuel and will come at the driver’s expense.
How to use the Motorpass fuel card
Each KINTO vehicle, (with the exception of the bZ4X) will have a fuel card located in the glovebox compartment. These will generally be housed in a KINTO branded lanyard and card holder for ease of visibility and safety when transferring from the vehicle to the fuel station and back.

When your KINTO fuel tank goes below ¼ tank, head to a participating fuel station and fill up the vehicle as normal. If unsure which fuel to use, you can check your booking screen on the KINTO car rental app or check the vehicle’s fuel tank door.
Once you have filled up, take note of the vehicle’s odometer reading, as this may be asked for at the checkout when presenting your Motorpass fuel card.

The fuel card will require a pin to pay for the fuel, similar to a credit or debit card. This unique pin can be found on the Current Booking screen in the app. Please note, tap to pay or contactless methods will not work with the fuel card.
Once fuelled up you are ready to continue your journey! Please ensure you place the fuel card back into the glovebox as there is a fee to replace any lost fuel cards.
At the end of your booking, please ensure that you have left at least ¼ of a tank of fuel left in the tank. If not, you may be charged a low fuel fee. For more information on KINTO’s fleet and pricing, please visit our cars and pricing page.
