Ho, ho, ho! We’re excited for this festive season, and there’s nothing more like an Australian Christmas than hot weather, time spent with loved ones and, of course, seeing all the Christmas lights! We’ve put together a list of the best places to see Christmas lights across the nation that would bring a smile to even the Grinchiest of Grinches.

From the 18th November-2nd Jan in Perth, you can follow the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail! Enjoy the spectacle of lightsthat stretch over 6kms. The trail showcases 35 magical large-scale light installations and immersive lights displayed on historical buildings. Rio Tinto is more than just lights, with a range of entertainment and performances scheduled throughout the season.

Melbourne has sprinkled a bit of Christmas cheer throughout the city! From Christmas Square at Federation Square, there will be the 16 feet tall Christmas tree, light displays, and light and sound shows starting from 9 pm each night. The giant reindeer in Victor Harbour has also returned and will be shining bright for all to see! Finally, the iconic Melbourne Town Hall will be lit with dazzling festive light displays. All of these locations will be ready to visit from the 25th of November.

Light Up Windsor Festival - New South Wales

The festive cheer is coming to Windsor Mall and George Street this 3rd of December, with the annual street fair. There will be light displays, roaming entertainment, snow flurries, and much more! There will also be a special ‘Find the Reindeer Passport’. If you visit all locations and bring your passport to the council’s tent on the night, you will receive a special prize!

This Christmas wonderland held in the Botanic Gardens, Queens Park, is a family-friendly event filled with sparkling light displays all over the gardens! It’s a charity-run event where funds raised will be donated back into the community so you can get into the festivities while supporting the local community.
