Beach Day
Spend the day at the beach in Mornington. There are an abundance of beaches along the coast of the Mornington Peninsula and more than a handful in the suburb of Mornington alone. Pack your beach day necessities and lay a towel down along one of the gorgeous shores. Mothers Beach is a popular destination in Mornington; with bright blue waters and shallow depths, it is a fantastic family-friendly beach. There are picnic tables, outdoor showers, water taps and a large playground just south of the beach. You can also find kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes for hire, making this a terrific spot where you could easily spend the day. Another beach you can visit is Mills Beach, a lovely stretch of sand with a collection of Mornington Peninsula Beach Boxes. Beleura House & Garden
Step back in time at Beleura House and Gardens, a heritage house museum boasting 5 hectares of stunning manicured gardens. This magnificent home is one of the state's last classic Bayside villas and was the home of composer John Tallis. Built in 1864 by the wealthiest man in the region at the time, Belelura House was a place of awe. Now, visitors can be transported as they step over the threshold to view the collections and original furnishings of the home's last owner, John Tallis. Learn the history of this home with a guided tour. Spend the day here on a house and garden tour, including morning tea and a light lunch, or a morning tea tour, where you can select a guided tour of either the house or gardens. A trip to Belelura must be pre-planned as visitors can only attend with a booking, but it is well worth dropping by if you're a history lover.

Volunteers built and now maintain the gardens, making this a gem of the local community. With large open spaces and grassy lawns, this is a superb spot to see and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature. Bring a picnic to have at one of the designated spaces, which feature picnic tables for families to enjoy lunch in a lovely setting surrounded by captivating flowers.
Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens
Bring the family to The Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens for an enjoyable day out. The gardens are home to Australia's oldest maze, which is made up of more than 1000 cypress trees and thousands of metres of pathways. The maze offers a magical experience for visitors to weave and wind their way through to the other side, all while finding the mosaic flags lost somewhere in between. Arthurs Seat Eagle
See things from a whole new perspective at Arthurs Seat Eagle. A 20-minute drive from Mornington will get you to the Eagle base station. Take flight above the treetops in one of the fully enclosed gondolas with large windows that guests can open to breathe in the fresh air from way up high. The gondolas reach a staggering height of 314 metres above sea level on the way to the summit of Arthurs Seat. Roam the nearby Arthurs Seat State Park, which has a range of walking paths for sightseers to explore before making your way back below. The round trip takes about 30 minutes and is a great way to see the stunning views above the treetops.
