The Big Rig
Step back into Roma's history at The Big Rig, the history of gas and oil exploration. This attraction plays a significant role in showcasing the history of this mining town through the stories of pioneers, machinery displays, exhibits, films and through the knowledge of experienced guides. There are a few ways to experience The Big Rig, The Night Show Sunset Experience, where visitors are transported through time with a short film in the outdoor cinema under the stars. A Self Guided Tour where you can take your time to explore the centre, learning about the pioneers and what drove them. Or a combination of both at the Day and Night Show.
Visit the Roma Bush Gardens
Get outside and into nature with a bush walk through the Roma Bush Gardens. The gardens are set on 14 hectares of beautiful Australian bushland that is perfect for avid bushwalkers to explore. Pack your walking shoes and your binoculars for a fun day soaking up the sunshine as you walk through the gorgeous landscapes, spotting the native vegetation that flourishes and the tranquil scenery around the dam. If you're a lover of birds, then this spot is fantastic for spotting all kinds of bird life that frequent the gardens. You'll want to keep still and quiet to let the gardens come to life around you as you spot various species of birds and other wildlife that peek out.
Bottle Tree Lane
Take a stroll along Bottle Tree Lane, where you'll find the icons of Roma. These beautiful Bottle Trees shade the path and are a wonder to see. The Bottle Trees have been in place for quite some time and are among some of the oldest residents of Roma. Some of these unique trees have even been recorded by explorer Major Mitchell in 1846 and are still alive today, making them an important part of Roma's history. The Bottle Trees grow on the Avenue of Honour, planted by the town of Roma. There are 138 trees planted, each one for a Roma soldier lost in World War One.

Start your day right by getting up bright and early and setting out for the market. The Roma Farmers and Artisan Markets are on every 3rd Saturday of the month at the Big Rig Parklands. Meander your way along the stalls, discovering what goods the locals have to offer. There is a wide variety of stalls with offerings ranging from fresh vegetables and fruits, handmade products, fashion, art, homewares, and so much more. Bring your basket and stock up on the fresh and delicious goods to make something mouth-watering back home. And, you might even find something special for you to bring home too.
Roma Golf Club
No matter where you are, there is always time for a round of golf and being in the outback won't stop that. Head to the Roma Golf Club for a round of golf on their country course. Tee off and make your way through the tough but enjoyable 18 holes that this course offers. The course is lined with leafy green trees that provide a challenge to manoeuvre around, and the terrain can be dry, offering a different sort of difficulty. The Roma Golf Club is the perfect location to itch your golfing needs as well as put your skills to the test.
Go Bushwalking
Bushwalking is a terrific way to get to know the Roma area. Explore walking tracks and trails around Roma to see the town up close and personal. There are plenty of beautiful spots to get out and wander through, including the dense bushland of Roma Bush Gardens or the Adungadoo Pathway that links two of Roma's highlight attractions, The Big Rig Parklands and Roma's largest Bottle Tree. There are 3 major race meets held at Roma Turf Club each year. These are the much anticipated Roma Cup, Easter in the Country and, of course, the Rugby Race Day.
